Free nerve endings and the transmission mechanism of pain
It is well known that pain is received at ”free nerve endings” extend to epithelial cells.
Recently, it has been suggested that epithelial cells also receive pain stimulation and transmit the information to free nerve endings.
However, there is no report that directly proves the interaction between epithelial cells and free nerve endings.
The reason is that free nerve endings cannot be stored, and their structures are too complicated in vivo to make experiments difficult.
Therefore, in this study, we will construct an in vitro model of free nerve endings,
and aim to clarify the transmission mechanism of epithelial cells to free nerve endings during pain stimulation.
